Healy-Lynn Insurance Joins Forces with Branco Insurance Group to Strengthen Community Coverage

Two of Naugatuck’s long-standing insurance professionals have joined forces. Beginning on April 14th, the Healy-Lynn Insurance Agency has become a division of Branco Insurance Group. Consolidating these two business stalwarts will offer advantages to better serve the community. This merger will present multiple lines of business, including auto, home, umbrella, business insurance, life, and Medicare. They will also be able to service clients in various languages. By bringing Healy-Lynn and Branco together, they can increase their reach in the community and have a bigger impact. “There isn’t another agency in town I would feel as comfortable merging the business I have built over the last 50-plus years. Branco Insurance Group is the perfect match to bring Healy-Lynn forward”, said owner William Lynn.

Bill has been an insurance professional for the past 53 years, beginning his career at just 20 years old, first with New York Life in New Haven and then with the Prudential Insurance Company. In 1978, Bill joined the Allstate Insurance Company, where he serviced insurance clients’ needs at a booth in the Waterbury Sears store and then moved to an office on Highland Avenue in Waterbury.

In 1988, land at the east end of Rubber Avenue became the site of the local Allstate Insurance Company office in the building that stands to this day, 734 Rubber Ave, Naugatuck, CT 06770. At the time, Bill was in business for many years with his father-in-law, the much beloved Joseph Healy. Together, they built not only a business but a legacy in Naugatuck. Their contributions are felt throughout the borough. In order to offer multiple carriers, Joe and Bill became independent agents, and the Healy-Lynn Insurance Agency was founded. Bill has had a storied insurance career and plans to continue that trajectory as he moves forward with Branco.

When Branco Insurance Agency opened its first office in 2008 on Meadow Street, it was directly across the street from the park that bears Joseph Healy’s name. The owner, Fernando Branco, would often look out of his window from his desk and see the sign honoring Mr. Healy for his 48-plus years of service to Naugatuck in the Parks Department, many of which he served as the chairman. Little did he know that one day he would be contributing to that legacy by collaborating with his son-in-law and business partner, William Lynn. “It is an honor to be able to help carry on the legacy that the Healy-Lynn Insurance Agency has created here in Naugatuck,” says Fernando Branco.
